Sensuousness in poetry bears a long tradition which include classic poets of Urdu as well as English poets. It’s a poetry that gratifies senses. generally, a poetry that has strong appeal for senses rather than intellect. It contains images, impressions and personifications that aims at five senses. poetry that affect our senses and through the senses gives pleasure to our mind or body. Tradition of sensous poetry is existed in English as well as in Urdu literary history. Renowned English sensuous poets like, John Donne from 17th century, William Blake and John Keats from 18yh and 19th century romantic poets and Christina Rossetti from 19the century are some renowned sensuous poets form English literature. Similarly, Urdu poetry also bears lots of such poets that have sensuous elements in their creations like Mir Taqi Meer, Nazir Akbar Abadi, Ghulam Hamdani Mushafi, Ghalib, Momin and Dagh Delhvi. Poetic creations of Syed Amir Sohail specially his Ghazal is permeated with examples of sensuous poetic verses. These are verses which affects our senses and pleases our minds and body.
