Abstract

Taraqqi Pasand Tehreek and Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq has severely affected Urdu Ghazal. These are two parallel movements in the field of literature. Urdu Ghazal has got newness by dint of these movements. Taraqqi Pasand Tehreek has highlighted social injustice prevailing in the society. However, Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq is a true reflection of aesthetical aspects of the society. Urdu Ghazal has been rejouvenated due to these two movements. These two literary movements have proved to be profitable for Urdu Ghazal. Even if these two movements keep their separate ideology, Urdu Ghazal can introduced with a new flavor. In addition to these two movements, Urdu Ghazal has created an enormous extension.
