Abstract

The situation arising out of the partition of the country in 1947 and aftermath had a physical, mental,political and economic impact on the people of the Indian Subcontinent. Writers aand artists were also personally influenced by him. The novels of this period reflect the different classes and their economic problems. These economic problems have been looked at and presented by novelists from different angles. An important name among these novelists is Shaukat Siddique, who portrayed the economic situation immediately after partition in his novels. This article provides an overview of the economic concepts contained in his novels “Khuda ki Basti” and “ Jangloos”
