Abstract

Mahmood Salem is a pioneer of Arabic mystery fiction for children. He is one of the most famous authors in the 
Arab world. He has produced Arabic serial books for children under the title of " " ْٚاٌقَّخ اٌّغبِو (The Five 
Adventurers) and  ا١ٌْب١ٛٓ اي" ٖٔ " (The 13 Devils). He started his writing career as a translator by rendering 
English books on children like "The Five Find Outers" into Arabic. Soon he came out with his magnum opus  and became a best seller. Salem authored more than three hundred books. The stories of"اٌّغبِوْٚ اٌقَّخ"
  " ٖٔ "ا١ٌْب١ٛٓ اي  were released as cartoon series on TV in 1972. Moreover, a story of the series"اٌّغبِوْٚ اٌقَّخ"
 
was filmed as well back in 2007.
