Abstract
Sahir Ludhianvi was a renowned Urdu poet and film lyricist who wrote in the 20th century India. He was known for his progressive and revolutionary views, his humanism, and his artistic excellence. His poetry reflects his deep concern for the socio-political issues of his time, such as poverty, oppression, war, and injustice. He also wrote about love, romance, and beauty, but with a realistic and sometimes cynical tone. Sahir was a part of the Progressive Writers’ Movement, who advocated for social justice, secularism, and humanism. They opposed the feudal, capitalist, and imperialist systems, and supported the rights of the workers, peasants, women, and minorities.
Sahir Ludhianvi equally tries to unmask the hypocrisy open brutality, filth and hollowness hidden within it. In an economically uneven society, most of the people spend their entire lives preparing for living. If there is economic discrimination in the society, women are subjected to emotional and emotional exploitation. This gap between relations becomes an unbridgeable gulf. This tragedy can be seen in Sahir Ludhianvi's poems. From this point of view, Sahir Ludhianvi has fulfilled the duty of the moment by choosing the subject of exploitation of women
