Abstract

Language has always been of special importance in the world’s politics. On one hand it represents the civilization and culture of a nation and on the other hand it determines its political and social status. For this reason, the UrduHindi conflict arose in India. Although this conflict was initially started by the conspiratorial mind of the British under the policy of “divide and rule”, but it later turned into a battle for survival .As per the principle of “survival of the fittest”, it came to be understood that the one whose language prevails, will rule india. This thought eventually split Hindustan. Even today, the politics of language is spreading poison in the veins of the subcontinent and the subcontinent is going through a ruthless process of division after division.
