His travelogues are included in the golden period of Urdu travelogues. Of the three travelogues that he has written “Safr e Gasht” is the most popular. The most significant feature of this travelogue is humour. The writer has deployed the technique of observation in a beautiful way. The travelogue writer has on many places made a comparative review of American and Pakistan civilisation and culture. Moreover, he has also inferred many results. Better characterisation and picturesque quality of descriptions bring this travelogue close to novel. There is a strong tradition of writing on travelling to America. Parto Roheela’s “Safar e Gasht” occupies a unique place and literacy status in modern travelogue.
