Abstract

Allama Shibli Nomani was a visionary, genius and versatile writer. The scope of his academic and literary services is very wide. He was highly intelligent and was ahead of his contemporaries due to his intelligence and academic achievements. He was simultaneously a reformer, educationist, researcher, critic, historian, biographer, philosopher, and Seerat Nigar as well as a poet. Allusion (Talmeeh (is a poetic skill by which a poet refers to a famous event, Quranic verse, Hadith, famous person (and his achievements) or a traditional story in few words in his verses (poetry). This adds a lot to the meaning of the verse (poem, poetry). This research article reflects the best use of Allusion (Talmeeh) in Shibli's Urdu poetry.
