Abstract

Since 1973, editions of Kulyat E Iqbal (Urdu) have been Published by various publishers and institutions, but unfortunately none of the editors have followed the principles of textual criticism in editing or compiling. For this reason, no reliable edition of Klam e Iqbal Urdu has come out so far. Iqbal Academy, Pakistan has also compiled a version of Kulyat e Iqbal (Urdu) which is considered the best version till now, but the criticism on it shows that   even the compilers of this institution did not give the importance to the principles of editing. Disappointed with the Academy’s version, Col Maqsood Mazhar Rathor edited a new version of Kulyat E Iqbal Urdu that published by Aiwan e Ilm o Fun Lahore in 2020, but due to not following of any principle of textual criticism, it also seems to have all the flaws of earlier editions. This article consists of the critical study of this compiled Kulyat and points out the flaws that appear against to the compiler’s claim.
