Abstract
Fahmida Riaz is a versatile blue stocking. She needs no introduction in literary circles. She earned her name as a poetess, novelist, fiction writer, translator, historian and biographer, but her real fame owes much to poetry. She expressed her ideas and emotions at length through poetry. She is expert in selection and arrangement of words. She became spokesman for deprived and oppressed strata of society and expressed her stance fully on imbalanced and biased treatment of woman. That is why, her name is considered authentic in the movement of woman rights. For her expression, she deviated from traditional way of poetry and introduced novelty in topics, as we find in the works of N.M. Rashid. He presented deprived and oppressed strata of society through symbols, but Fahmida Riaz has proved bold by not depending on any kind of symbols or similes, rather she expressed her views on such topics through candid and real style of writing. Both of the authors, by deviating from traditional Urdu poetry and prose, invoked bottomless ocean of rebellion, but both of them are pole apart in their views of woman and her rights. In the present study, the author has tried to present comparative analysis of their opposite views on this feminism.
