Abstract
Hazrat Ali Hajwari was born in the city of Ghazni the reign of Muhmud of Ghazni. The exact date of Hazrat Ali Hujwiri birth is not known, with estimates ranging from 400 AH to 406 AH. Hazrat Ali Hujwiri was both a Hasani and Husseini Syed. Data Ganj Bakhsh was a great Persian Sufi Scholar, writer and poet who lived during the 5th century AH.
Hazrat Ali Hujwiri was accepted as a murid by Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Fadal Muhammed Bin Al- Hasan Al- Khuttali. Hazrat Abu Saeed Hujwiri was a fellow townsman of Hazrat Ali Hujwiri and the book Kashf-ul- Mahjoob was written in accordance to his request. He spent the rest of his days there guiding, teaching, and inspiring the people and propogating the doctrine of truth. Hazrat Ali Hujwiri have passed away on the twentieth of the month of Rabi-ul-Awal 465 AH(although the date, month and year are all conjectural). He solved a lot of problems of his time. His message and impact is still relevant in the present society of our country. He significantly contributed to the spreading of Islam in South Asia.
