Abstract

Mahmood Salem is a pioneer of Arabic mystery fiction for children. He is one of the most famous authors in the Arab world. He has produced Arabic serial books for children under the title of ""المغامرون الخمسة (The Five Adventurers) and "الشياطين ال ١٣"  (The 13 Devils). He started his writing career as a translator by rendering English books on children like "The Five Find Outers" into Arabic. Soon he came out with his magnum opus "المغامرون الخمسة" and became a best seller. Salem authored more than three hundred books. The stories of "المغامرون الخمسة" were released as cartoon series on TV in 1972. Moreover, a story of the series "الشياطين ال ١٣" was filmed as well back in 2007.
