Abstract

Rights given to women by Islam are unprecedented not only in other religions but also in any other civilization . Besides other religions, Islam especially emphasizes on economic rights of women. In fact, Islam gave economic rights 1300 years before the Western world. Islam defines the law of inheritance which guarantees the economic security of women. For the first time in the history of civilization , Islam gave property rights to women . It indeed raises the status of women in society. To make women financially consolidated and secure , Islam gives women right to inheritance, alimony, jointure, and the right to own or disown property. Furthermore , Islam does not make it obligatory for women to assist financially. Women are exempted  from any financial burden. In any case, it is the duty of male relatives of women to assist them in financial crisis. It includes fathers, brothers, sons, etc. However, there are moments in life when women ought to lift themselves financially up if they became widows, to upbring infants, to support their diseased husbands, or to support old parents. Islam has not put any sanction on taking part in any financial activities. Islam just demands strict paradah from strangers or unknown gents. Pakistan is an Islamic name of society and religion. The ratio of veil keeping is less than 1% in Pakistan. Ironically, in all social or family gatherings, in bazars, in villages or any other occasions men and women are present side by side. Many steps have been taken to uplift women’s rights since the inception of Pakistan but they are still scanty. In Pakistan, a woman is totally helpless and insecure financially. Economically stable women  constitute less than 1% in Pakistan. Government should accommodate women in all sectors from the education department to parliament even according to their population. It is the religious , legal, and economic right of every woman. To follow Islamic teachings and norms, it is not distasteful to treat men and women separately.
