Abstract

Urdu poetry having a long history; from the early era, poets  expressed their poetic views in different structural form; Nazm, Ghazl, Masnavi etc. Among these forms Qita Nigari (قطعہ نگاری) is a common form in the poerty. Poets in urdu literature used this form. In this article make an effort  to present the history of this form (Qita Nigari) briefly. This article will help the students of urdu literature to understand this form as well as its uses in the past and present poetry. It will aslo help to understand this poetic form with its importance.
