Abstract

Mulana Muhammad Shahabud-din-Nadvi (1931-2002) is one of the greatest academic  personality .He got knowledge , wisdom ,bravery , honesty and love for justice as his legacy .He was one of the fortunest person because in the very bigining of his academic career  he chose the specific direction for himself .Mulana’s area of interest was Quran and Science .Beside this he initiated reseach work on Islamic shariah and the welfare movement for society .He started delivering the lectures on ‘Holy Quran and science’ on monthly basis that was the first series in the history of  Banglore.He did many educational trips toward UAE. ‘Tafsir  Israr –ul-Quran’ is one of his most  significant academic contribution,in which he stated few surah of Holy Quran in his  peculiar style .He wrote more then one hundred  books on social issues ,philosophy and shariah. Mulana established very first research centre named as Furqania Academy on the land of Tipu Sultan.The purpose of this academic movement was to research and  produce literature in english and urdu  with new view. A well equipped  library was also founded that had  fourty thousand  books. He spent whole of his life in academic and research work. Many researchers  and religious scholars are the witness of his great contribution .Molana called himself ‘servent of the Holy Quran’.He did pure academic and research work free from party and sectarianism restrictions. Muslim umah’s carefree attitude towards the teaching of Holy Quran was the continuous source of anxiety till his death. But his academic and research work are still kept alive by his sons.
