Abstract

Urdu language has a variety of loan words concerning sentence structure, morphology, phonology, spelling and vocabulary. The one semantic element that makes the investigation of Urdu language additionally fascinating is the vocabulary. Basically, Urdu language uses many loan words from Latin, German, French and English languages etc. The purpose of this study is to explore the morphological integration of European loan words in Urdu language while another purpose of this study is to flash on the process of this morphological integration. The qualitative research method is used in this study, and the words are randomly chosen from different European languages. The results show that when a language barrowed words from another language do not change the grammatical category, and the results also reveal that deficit hypothesis is the main reason of this lexical barrowing.
