Abstract

Akram Sahar Farani is a poet of unique and beautiful style and tone. He wrote in all genres of poetry, but Urdu “Ghazal” and poems are his special subject. He was closely associated with the police department in his practical life and saw political, social and religious events and issues very closely. The theme and subject of his “Ghazals” are born from the life and emotions of the living society. His “Ghazals” are a beautiful blend of classical and modern as well as a charming example of beauty and love. In his “Ghazals” he has tried to awaken the  believer from his slumber alongwith the teachings of patriotism, friendship, brotherhood and peace. The aspect of optimism is prominent in his Ghazals. In Sahar's “poems” themes like poverty, unemployment, ignorance, inflation, terrorism, prostitution, and freedom of Kashmir are found frequently.
