Abstract

The word Modernity is a convoluted term. A distraction was seen at community, political and literary level also in an early age of Pakistan.The stagnation atmosphere was spread on literature also.A famous critic Hasan Askari indicates that situation for writing an article titled "Urdu Adab ki Maut".This article highlights the Effects of Modernity on Urdu literature in perspective of Pakistani literature.
