Abstract

Chauvinism/patriotism is an integral part of human nature. The portrayal of this natural fervency is considered as the fundamental part of literature throughout the globe. In Urdu literature, apart from prose the element of chauvinism/ patriotism is also being discussed in poetry with sheer consistency. Besides, the prominent Urdu poets like Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Habib Jalib and Ahmad Faraz, almost every poet in the region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has discussed the element of chauvinism/ patriotism in his poetry. Similarly, one of the poets namely Fayaz Wardag from District Lower Dir, a region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also expressed his views very clearly on the subject of chauvinism in his poetry.
