Abstract

Anguish of loneliness is the favorite topic of poets and writers of every genre of literature of the world. This anguish of loneliness is not partially but entirely reflecting in modern urdu ghazal. Apart from collective consciousness and tradition of urdu poetry people are dealing with social, political, economic, cultural, literary and lingual problems pf third world led them to the sense of loneliness. That’s why loneliness has secured a position of dominant trend in modern urdu ghazal. This dissertation reviews the critical analysis of loneliness in modern urdu ghazal.
