Abstract
The thing which concerns in the Prophetic Sunna regarding human health, the recommendation of “physical sport" which are some physical exercises that a person performs to gain the strength and stretch of the body. It contributes to preparing a devout believer physically, psychologically and socially, because physical strength besides strength of faith is required in religion, rather it is praised. This is because the person with this description is often braver than the enemy in jihad, the firmest in enjoining good and forbidding evil, the patient in the hardships in way of Allah Almighty, and more desirous and active to rituals and so on. Therefore, the Prophet (pbuh) praised the strong believer. By performing a physical exercise, the consumed food can easily be digested and become part of the body with its harmonious proportion to the rest of it, as the lack of physical exercise and a sedentary lifestyle have negative effects like the high cholesterol and blood clots in the veins thus the possibility of coronary heart disease. It also generates diabetes, osteoporosis, depression and many other diseases. Moreover, the recommendation of physical exercise in Islam is restricted to some rules and conditions, like being modest in dress, not to be distracting from the performance of religious duties, there should be no mixing between the gender, and finally not to take sports competitions as a means to earn the forbidden things. In fact, the Prophet (pbuh) desired the kinds of sports that were common and accessible to people at that time such as: racing, horse riding, swimming, archery, and the like which have tangible benefits to human health. In this article, I have tried to shed light on these sports indicating their health benefits. The article is divided into an introduction, four chapters/points/headings. Conclusion.
