Abstract

Arsh Siddiqui is a fictionist of a renowned era of Urdu literature. He is highly recognized in the field of fiction writing, yet he is also a poet of high caliber. Especially in free verse; his mythical communication, individual tone and conversational atmosphere sets a unique example. “Dida Yaqub”, “Mahabbat Lafz Tha Mera”, “Har Moj Hawa Taiz” and “Usay Kehna December Agaya Hai” are his poetry collections.  His poetry is the most effective narrative of modern era in which the tragic aspects of human life are prominent along with the violations of social values. The depressing attitude of human life and man’s disregard from the surrounding environment is found in the poems of his last period listed in “Usay Kehna December Agaya Hai”. This article presents; the thematic analysis of the poems in “Usay Kehna December Agaya Hai”.
