Abstract

Nazar Muhammad Rashid commonly known as Noon Meem Rashid was influential Pakistani poet of modern Urdu poetry.The theme of  Rashid,s poetry run from the struggle against domination to the relationship between words and meanings between language and awareness and creative process that produce poetry and other art. Nobody who is in touch with the aesthetics of Urdu can deny the sheer beauty  of Rashid ,s language, style  and copious beauty. Drama ,s elements which have been integrated into Urdu poetry ,have also been adopted in Rashid ,s poetry .Rashid  rebelled against the traditional form of ghazal and became the first major exponent of free verse and is more technically accomplished and lyrical, his main intellectual and political ideas reach maturity in his later works.
