Abstract

In the contemporary world, women are placed in a very prominent position in human society. Social history has given many new approaches to analyze the oppression and inequalities against women. Feminist ideology was introduced to ensure gender equality in social, political, economic, religious, educational, and professional zones. Modern Feminist jurisprudence is evolved from women’s empowerment, women's rights and interests. Women’s empowerment has remained a contested issue in the complex socio-demographic and cultural milieu of Pakistani society. Indeed, women’s empowerment depends upon cultural, social, religious, and legal arrangements, as well as the life opportunities given to them. Modern feminist jurisprudence compelled the social thinkers to review the gender's injustice and women's exploitation. it compelled the think-tankers to introduce to launch research on feminists’ arrangements in Pakistan, a Muslim state. Present women movements voiced to revise the women rights in contemporary context. Many works on this subject have been written in English, but Urdu literature is lacking. This research is intended to provoke further research work on the discourse of women’s empowerment. The present study is a historical overview of women’s empowerment in Pakistan. It aimed to underline feminist jurisprudence and women's empowerment in Pakistan's perspective.
