Abstract

According to the Mystics, knowledge is generally divided in to two parts .Apparent knowledge and Esoteric knowledge .Apparent knowledge is usually used to organize our lives for the sake of facilitating ourselves ,however the esoteric knowledge is not to know the main goal of life alone but also to spend the lives accordingly .Both the Sultan ul Arifin Hazrat Sultan Bahoo and Maulana Rumi believed in these two types of knowledge .Hazrat Sultan Bahoo considers the apparent knowledge as the beginning of the destination and considers the inner knowledge   as the destination  where as Maulana Rumi says that the knowledge which effects the heart and guides men towards their true purpose is in fact the true knowledge ,otherwise the knowledge which is only the cause of ease is a mere burden .This research not only highlighted the concept of knowledge by the two mystic personalities but also seeks to research the true spirit of knowledge in the light of the teachings of Hazrat Sultan Bahoo and Maulana Rumi.
