Abstract

Colonialism is the policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, accupying it with settlers and exploiting it economically. Colonialism started in sixteents century and first colonialist were Spain, France, Britain and Netherland. Later on industrial revolution encouraged this process so rapidly uptil nineteenth century, Britishers were holding the central of 1/5 of world and ¼ world population; as far as the effects of colonialism are concerned colonisers manipulated the resources of colonised. During colonialism different genres of Urdu literature were effected like Ghazal, Poems, Novel and short stories. Short story writer discussed colonialism and its effects. We can see a deep shadow of colonialism on most of Urdu fiction writers in preparation era.
