Abstract

Translations are playing an important role to convert the world into a global village. Urdu has a great ability to translate any kind of script. Heer Waris Shah is a famous poetic master piece of Punjabi language. Syed Waris Shah wrote it in 1766-67 and Sharif Kunjahi translated it into Urdu in 1991-92. It was the first Urdu translation of HeerWaris Shah. Shrif Kunjahi was an experienced translator and handled this difficult task very skillfully. This article is an over view of the abilities and translation skills of Sharif kunjahi. This article also discussed the Type and objectives of this translation.
