Abstract
Domestic violence in Pakistan is a critical social issue that has garnered significant attention at both public and political levels. This research aims to analyze the legislative frameworks addressing domestic violence in Pakistan and examine how laws and policies are attempting to address this issue. The study will review existing legislation, such as the "Women Protection Act" and the "Domestic Violence Bill," and assess their effectiveness in combating domestic violence. Additionally, the study will explore the social, cultural, and political factors influencing legislative processes and evaluate the challenges in the enforcement of these laws. The research seeks to identify gaps in the current legal framework and propose recommendations for more effective and practical legislation, with the ultimate goal of safeguarding women and children from domestic violence and ensuring the protection of their rights.
