Abstract
Amber is a fragrant substance that is typically produced in the stomach of the marine animal "Steller's whale." It is a natural material used in various products for fragrance, especially in the perfume and scent industry. Islamic scholars have offered different opinions regarding its use, and these opinions can be analyzed in the context of various schools of Islamic jurisprudence. There is a difference of opinion among scholars, but it is clear that the use of amber can be considered halal or haram based on its nature and source. In the modern era, when the use of synthetic amber is common and environmental issues have become significant, it is necessary for scholars to make their decisions in light of modern research and to inform Muslims about its use. Additionally, societal and ethical concerns, such as animal rights and environmental protection, should also be given importance so that not only Islamic principles are followed in this matter, but global ethical standards are also taken into account.
