Abstract
Women face various challenges in society, especially within Indo-Pakistani culture. This article aims to highlight some of these issues, as they hold significance for our society where women make up over 50% of the population. If their challenges are addressed, they could become effective citizens. Historically, women were largely confined to household roles and denied their rights. During British India, some progressive Muslim reformers, like Sir Sayyid Ahmed Khan, sought to improve women's social status. They believed that Urdu literature was an effective means to educate and uplift women. Nazir Ahmed was a key figure in this effort.Muhammdi Begum was the first woman to take responsibility for educating women of her time. She wrote three novelettes to raise awareness about women's education and to challenge outdated traditions like child marriage.
