Abstract

This paper deals with the confliction of Eastern and Western Civilization in Pakistani Radio (published) dramas. the subcontinent has been under the influence of western civilization for centuries. the civilization bbought by the British mentally enslaved the people of this region that its effects are still visible today.

When Pakistan came into being, it had its own culture and civilization but our young generation could not escape the influence of western civilization. our playwriths, whether they are stage writers or radio writers, they felt it strongly. they also introduced eastern and western civilization in their radio dramas and made them part of their dramas where there is an atmosphere of conflict between the two civilizations. It is seen in more religious aspects, women’s freedom, dress, life style and the arts.Our playwrights have highlighted the conflictiong aspects of these two civilizations along with social issues, so that our young generation can take pride in recognizing and adopt in this civilization.
