Abstract

There is hardly any poet whose heart and mind have not been affected by oppression. Parveen Shakir is one of those names who prides herself on her poetic skills. Parveen Shakir, especially in Urdu poetry, instead of being limited to one aspect of life, gave new dimensions of thought and style to all the social and political problems of the present age along with personal experiences. In her poem, Parveen Shakir gave place to the atmosphere of persecution around her. Thus the style of protest and resistance in her poem gives her uniqueness as a female poet.
