Abstract

Modern Urdu poetry is divided into two major trends. The first is collectivist and the second is individualism. Akhtar-ul-Eman has adopted a balanced attitude between the two tendencies. Under the colonial situation human pain, anguish, sorrow, boredom and resentment aroused in Akhtar-ul-Eman reflections.  He have a crisis of memory and identity vividly. In this statement of the past, the desire for freedom, aspiration and ideal perspective is seen. In the lower level of his poems, there is a statement of the political, social and human moral decay of his era. He is silently protesting against the colonial situation. This is seems an anti-colonial attitude in a broder sense. The internal experience in the system is a reflection of their personality which has grown up with the political, social, economic conditions around them and the forced colonial exploitative system. This article presents a study of Akhtar-ul-Eman’s poems published in the colonial era in a colonial context.
