Abstract

 Tabbassum Kashmiri’s “History of Urdu Literature, till 1857” was published in 2003. A study of this book revealed that it was not written with proper planning. Especially, its structure has so many faults. Kashmiri did not take pain for new research of literary facts and new information of this field also. Although he claims to see Urdu literature with his own vision, he does not give anything new. So, it is right to say that his book is not a fine addition in this field and Kashmiri could not make a reasonable place among the writers of the history of Urdu literature.
