اردو ادب میں اساطیر کی حسن کاری: ایک تجزیہ

Abstract

Mythology has a long lasting beautifying impact on the literature of all eras. Since the dawn of the literature, myths have played a key role in enlightening as well as entertaining the human mind and society. Urdu literature, in general, and Urdu fiction in specific, is enriched with mythology. Urdu Masnavi, along with Urdu Dastan, has greatly been influenced by the mythology. Similarly, Urdu novels and short stories have also witnessed the impact of mythology. Nonetheless, the ancient mythical legacy is evolving into science fiction in the present era.  Mythology has infused the elements of alienation, mystery, imagination, suspense and wonder into the literature. The article under study presents an analysis of Urdu literature focusing on the impact of mythology. All the above said aspects have been reviewed and examined; a conclusion has been drawn and presented at the end.
