Abstract

The study analyses defiance in the poetry of Dr. Faqira Khan Faqri defiance is the central theme of his poetry. Dr. Faqira Khan Faqri opposes those acts and feelings that affect common man. Thus, his poetry deals with defiance and resistance criticizing materialism and hypocaracy. These attitude, however, give birth to social evils like unrighteousness. In modern world, rationalism and materialism have turned human beings into machines. They try to satiate with material things even at the cost of human’s welfare. Dr. Faqira Khan Faqri has opposed and criticized such people and attitudes in his poetry. Dr. Faqira Khan Faqri poetry abounds with the love of human beings. His opposition of the negative attitudes is for the sake of the suffering of common man. If he opposes an idealogy, it is based on ethical considerations. Faqri can understand and peep into the inner of human. In short, Dr. Faqira Khan Faqri’s poetry truly depicts the cultural values, customs and traditions, and socio-political situations of his age the mirrors and opposes the hypocracy, deception, and senselessness of the people.
