Abstract

In the late 19th century, the story that became a household name throughout India was the tale of Talism-eHoshruba. This is the first work in Urdu literature that encompasses all the attistic elements of storytelling with full detail and elaboration. It features battles, gatherings, beauty and love, cunning and magic on such a grand scale with such a high standard that it is unparalleled in other Urdu tales.
