Abstract
This study explores the principles and regulations governing halal and haram, focusing on the specific challenges faced by consumers in modern-day Pakistan. With the rise in globalization, many halal products consumed in Pakistan are imported from non-Muslim countries. This creates uncertainty regarding the halal status of these products, especially since many of them include ingredients sourced from unknown or potentially non-halal origins. The study highlights the alarming trend of haram ingredients being mixed into products in such a way that the average consumer cannot detect them. The implications of consuming haram are severe in Islam; it is stated that a person's deeds are not accepted for forty days after consuming haram, and bodies nourished by haram wealth are destined for hellfire. This study also emphasizes the spiritual significance of consuming halal, as it purifies the heart, increases devotion, and instills a greater desire to obey Allah. Conversely, haram consumption hardens the heart, removes the fear of Allah, and leads to a loss of the ability to perform righteous deeds. The research narrows its focus to food, beverages, and consumable products, examining the critical role of halal and haram in maintaining spiritual purity and moral integrity in Islam. Through a detailed analysis of Islamic legal texts, this study seeks to provide clear guidelines for consumers on how to ensure that the products they use adhere to Islamic principles.
