Abstract
This study examines the life and scholarly contributions of Shaykh Ghulām Rasūl al-Sa'īdī (رحمه الله), a prominent figure in the Indian subcontinent's Islamic scholarship, who passed away in 2016. Shaykh al-Sa'īdī made significant efforts toward the betterment of the Muslim community, particularly in India, through his extensive works in Islamic sciences. He is best known for his influential tafsīr, "Tibyān al-Qur'ān," and his comprehensive commentary on Sahih Muslim. Combining traditionalism with modernity, Shaykh al-Sa'īdī followed a balanced and moderate approach in jurisprudence and theology. His scholarly contributions spanned various fields, demonstrating a commitment to making Islamic knowledge accessible to both students and the general Muslim populace, without compromising academic rigor. Shaykh al-Sa'īdī's efforts in ijtihād, addressing contemporary issues within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence and theology, highlighted his unique role in bridging classical scholarship with contemporary needs. His simple and clear writing style further facilitated the dissemination of Islamic knowledge, ensuring its relevance and understanding across different segments of society.
