Abstract
Mīr Muhammad Hussain Kalīm was a classical poet of Mīr Taqī Mīr`s era. He directly learned poetic skills from Mir. He was also relative brother of Mīr. His son Tajallī Dehlavī was also a renowned poet. He write both in Urdū and Persian. He was so popular for his poetic Meter skills that he composed a book on it. Moreover professionally he was a soldier, had knowledge of medicines and his writing skills were both excellent in poetry and prose. In prose he translate Ibn-ul-Arabī’s selected chapters of Fasoos-ul-Hukum. Qissa-e-Rangīn, Deh Majlis, Risala ʿAroozo Qawafī and Masnavī Qissa-e-Naṭ are also his valuable works. He had keen interest in Sufism thatwhy he translate Ibnul- ʿArabī. In Urdu poetry Just like other classical poets his Diwān has a large number of poetic genres but due to be a victim of rotation of Time now is noexistent. Memorendums of Urdū poets can turn the picture of that era by which we know Kalīm.
