Abstract

Urdu novel as a established genre of literature with the traditional history of approx. one and half century depicts great diversity of topics. These topics cover every inch of human life  from their personal life and subjective issues to objective conditions and crisis. In the perspective of world literature as well as Urdu literature, political conditions and politics have great impact upon literature. So Urdu novel as a popular genre of literature have big portion of  political consciousness. There are  a number of novels which depicts the political perspectives of political characters and 'Ibn ul waqt' is one of them. This type of  novels having political characters  and consciousness are  very  significant source to  understand political conditions of that era and those personalities  as well.              


سیاست ( Politics) ’’ساس‘‘ سے مشتق ہے جو یونانی لفظ ہے جس کے معنی شہر اور شہر نشین کے ہیں جب کہ  فیروز اللغات اردو جدید کے مطابق اس کے معنی درج ذیل ہیں:


’’حکومت ، سلطنت، ملکی انتظام، رعب داب، مالی، سزا ۔‘‘ ۱؎


جب کہ انگریزی میں اس کی تعریف کچھ یوں کی گئی ہے۔

Furthermore, politics is the study of practice with in a given community (a usually hierarchically organized population) as well as the interrelation between communities. It is often said that politics is about power.''
