Abstract

Colonial approach was spread strongly through the writings of orientalist. They tried to depict and present the knowledge as the power symbol.They took religion and history as opposite polls and focused deeply on their differences.Through this, they strengthened the religious and linguistic prejudices.They throw light especially on the weak sides of local inhabitant’s religion, politics, geography, superstitions and culture in order to create their own supremacy.Garsaan Detassi was a French orientalist who wrote the history of Urdu literature in Hindustan. This article deals with the colonial approach that is very much invoved in this writing.
