Abstract

Behaviourism is a theory of the late 19th century. Jan B. Watts is counted among its early proponents. Additionally, Bloomfield and Skinner were also supporters of this theory. While it is a psychological theory, its application is common in the field of education as well. According to this theory, learning must be acquired through the means of experimental sciences. Students should be provided with practical opportunities and environments through which they can learn arts and sciences. To facilitate effective learning in Behaviourism, an environment and stimulation should be created in such a way that the student repeatedly provides feedback. The repetition of stimulation and its feedback will enhance the effectiveness of learning. Since Behaviourism encourages applied types of learning, it is necessary to provide students with an environment that is beneficial for applied learning.
