Abstract

“Sayyid Haider Bukhsh Haidri was the most prominent and prolific writer of Fort William College. He wrote many books of urdu literature. He is well known for his Dastan’s “Tota Kahani” and “Aaraish-e-Mehfil”. As well as being a prose writer he was also a poet. Although most of his topics are conventional but his poetry is full of similes and metaphors. This article deals with the poetic recognition and critical appreciation of Haidri’s poetry.”
