Abstract

Poetry is an ambassador of man’s emotions and feelings and in poetry ghazal is such a genre in which all types of ideas could become the topic of a ghazal. Saba Ikram is a famous poet whose poetry represents crude realities of life. ‘Suraj ki Slab’, is collection of his ghazals and after reading it one comes to know that there’s impact of external circumstances on him. His poetry paves way to the reader’s different paths of life to tread by showing that he is in harmony with the ups and downs of life. The researcher has tried to find out after cortically analyzing ‘Suraj ki Slab’, that the poet is perplexed on the present mechanical life that it has turned today’s man into good for nothing and penniless. But Saba Ikram, through his ghazals, has brought man to the full extent from the dark hopelessness to hopefulness.
