Abstract

The writing style of an author, born from the merging of thought and meaning, is termed their "style". Abdullah Hussain, a prominent novelist, skillfully meets all storytelling requisites. His writing reflects in its arrangement, language usage, composition, expressive mastery, and relevance to characters and themes. Hussain's style incorporates passion, vividness, simplicity, and conciseness, employing symbolism and imagery for brevity and imaginative depth. His novel "Bagh" (1982) delves into the 1965 Indo-Pak war and its Kashmir aftermath, shedding light on military and police culture. Through symbolic and metaphorical expression, Hussain captures societal injustices and historical contexts like the partition of India. His adeptness in portraying diverse characters and settings further underscores his exceptional style. While all his novels garnered popularity, "Bagh" stands out artistically, exemplifying Hussain's storytelling prowess.
