Abstract

In the 20th century, when Urdu literature suffered from various movements and trends and the writers of that period focused on different genres of literature, then attention was also drawn to dramaturgy. Therefore, where the progressive writers brought fiction to its peak, there was also a lot of work on dramaturgy. Apart from Manto and Bedi, an important name in this regard is that of Krishan Chander, who promoted Urdu drama in addition to novels and fiction. At that time, Krishan Chander did not act with bigotry but fulfilled his duty by working with the principles of humanity. The chaos of that time, the flames of Hindu-Muslim riots, the cruelty of the British, the blood of humanity, the thirst for each other's lives, all kinds of filth remind us of this era. When the whole of Asia was burning, Krishan Chander was giving the message of peace to the people. Sometimes, while reading his writings, it seems that he has made his writing a reality while walking in the dust of the streets and roads and has put it on paper after assessing the condition of the people. The secret of the greatness of Krishan Chanders art lies in his distinctive style of expression. He brings life to the drama due to his effective style. There are all kinds of characters in his plays. The popular drama “Darwazei khul do “which is the theme of national unity. The theme Krishan Chander focuses on in this play is very important for the integrity of our country.
