Abstract

Cultural devastation is a key result of globalization. It has affected the practical day to day life of third world countries after destroying the norms of the society. The situation is not restricted to one’s action only rather the concerned literature also started to portray cultural devastation as one of important social issue which tends towards its seriousness. Urdu short story is also affected with cultural devastation resulted from globalization. Many Urdu short story writers depicted the situation of cultural devastation in their fiction but the article is limited to the study of Mubeen Mirza, Hamid Siraj, Irfan Ahmed Urfi, Asim Butt and Farrukh Nadeem. The purpose of such depiction seems to aware the reader regarding the silent death of the society by cultural devastation. So the article is an effort to reveal the perceptions of above mentioned authors in this regard.
