Abstract

Azad , Ismail, Akbar and their contemporaries have new patterns of form, but Iqbal is more aware  of the expansion of tradition. Even Though Iqbal is a conservative, innovators have emerged. He has experimented with new forms by making many changes and additions to the fixed and outdated styles. He wrote poems in the traditional form of "Masnavi" but did not use the prescribed style of  "Masnavi"In his poems , Iqbal uses both short and long styles of’’behar”. Iqbal has also written poems in the form of "Hexagon". Iqbal,s long poems have been written synthetically .In the composition , he has given the form of a continuous poem to the " stanza" written in the form of " Ghazal".
