Abstract

Intizar Hussain needs no introduction among the famous fiction writers and storytellers of the present era. After the establishment of Pakistan, Intizar Hussain has a unique and distinguished position in Urdu literature. His creative journey spans a long period of time, which holds a high position and wide rank in the literary, artistic and creative era. He did not try his hand at only one genre, but he had a field of different literary genres in front of him and he excelled in every genre as if he had inherited this literature. He had tried his hand in more or less all genres of fiction, novel, criticism, translation, travelogue, journalism, column writing, sketches, comedy, essays, drama and prose, but the position and rank that Intizar Hussain got was in fiction. He could not find them in other genres. The stories of Intizar Hussain have a great place and status in Urdu literature.
